ABSTRACT
This work is titled “car reverse proximity sensor” or “car reverse parking sensor”. While parking the car the driver should be more careful because he cannot see the back of the car while taking reverse, if there is any obstacle and ran over it might be get damage to the car. Our project will help the person in the driving seat and give alarm if there is any obstacle or a wall while driving in reverse.
CHAPTER ONE
1.O INTRODUCTION
While reversing a car that was parked, drivers always look back from their back windscreen or through their mirror to see if there is any obstacle. Peradventure they ran over it might be get damage to the car. This project will help the person in the driving seat and give alarm if there is any obstacle or a wall driving in reverse.
This car reverse assistant can protect your car from any damage while reverse parking. It indicates the distance of car from any object and raise an alarm when it reaches close to the wall or the object and needs to be stopped. In this system, an ultrasonic sensor was used which will detect the obstacle within 2cm to 400cm, if there is any obstacle it will sense and give information to the tone detector which will enable the arduino to generate a PWM for the buzzer. The arduino which serves as the heart of the device will generate the pulse which helps to buzz the buzzer so driver can understand that there is an obstacle.
1.1 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The aim of this project is to build a circuit which will help the person in the driving seat and give alarm if there is any obstacle or a wall while parking or while driving in reverse.
1.2 PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
The main purpose of this work is to protect cars from damaging when taking a reverse.
1.2 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
It is very useful for many people who are going by cars regularly. When cannot see the back of the car while parking or taking reverse, if there is any obstacle and ran over it might be get damage to the car. Our project will help the person in the driving seat and give alarm if there is any obstacle or a wall while driving in reverse.
1.3 APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT
This device could only be used in cars by drivers more especially in the public car park or garages.
1.4 LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
- In this system, an ultrasonic sensor detect the obstacle within 2cm to 400cm
- The power source of the system depends on the car battery/ignition. That means, it will only work when the driver switch ON the ignition.
1.5 PROJECT WORK ORGANISATION
The various stages involved in the development of this project have been properly put into five chapters to enhance comprehensive and concise reading. In this project thesis, the project is organized sequentially as follows:
Chapter one of this work is on the introduction to a car reverse proximity sensor. In this chapter, the background, significance, objective limitation and problem of a car parking guard were discussed.
Chapter two is on literature review of a car reverse proximity sensor. In this chapter, all the literature pertaining to this work was reviewed.
Chapter three is on design methodology. In this chapter all the method involved during the design and construction were discussed.
Chapter four is on testing analysis. All testing that result accurate functionality was analyzed.
Chapter five is on conclusion, recommendation and references.
